What is WowTown.com?

Are you a cool kid who loves to play with the latest toys? Then this is the place for you. WowTown.com is a place for you to go and upload videos of you, and your friends, playing with the latest toys. To read all about WowTown.com click here

What is a Wowzer?

A Wowzer is a registered member of WowTown.com. You don't have to become a Wowzer to view videos and read comments on WowTown.com but if you want to share your own videos, enter our great competitions and leave comments yourself then sign up to become a Wowzer!

How do I become a Wowzer?

We have a really simple sign up form to become a Wowzer which shouldn't take more than 3 minutes to complete. We only ask for basic personal information and will never ask for anything that will allow you to be identified.

Why do I need my parent's permission to join?

As WowTown.com is a site purely for kids we need to comply with COPPA; this is the set of rules that protect yours and other kids safety on the Internet. As much as we would like the process to be quicker, certain rules mean we have to get your parents permission before you can become a Wowzer.

What kind of information do you require from my child?

The only required information is their first name, date of birth, parent's name and parent's email address. We also ask where they heard about WowTown.com. It is optional to provide a personal email address and country/area in which they live.

Is WowTown.com a safe environment for my child to share videos?

Absolutely! We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe and secure online environment where children can share their videos with only having to submit very little personal information. Everything on WowTown.com is moderated and approved before appearing online so there will never be any unsuitable content on the site. Feel free to read our privacy policy if you’re still unsure and any more questions you may have regarding this matter can be sent directly to the WowTown.com team.

How do I upload my videos?

At the top of the website there's a button that reads "Upload Your Video" and after clicking on that you'll be taken to another page which gives you step by step instructions to take you through the process. To upload your videos you'll first need to fill in some simple details and once you've done that just follow the easy instructional guide.

How long will it take for my video to appear online?

It’s best to usually wait a day before searching for your video, as the WowTown.com team need to view and approve your video before it becomes available online. If you provided us with an email address you will get a message when your video is ready to view.

Do my videos have to be a certain length?

When it comes to the running time of your videos its always best to keep in mind how long you can keep the viewers attention for. For example if your video is really long and doesn’t really need to be then you may lose your viewers whereas if you make a video that’s shorter and straight to the point then it might be easier for viewers to watch. However we encourage creativity so if you feel a particular video must be a certain length then we don’t mind that either.

As many as you like! We want to encourage Wowzers to be as creative as possible so start recording and show us what you’ve got!

How do I get people to watch my video?

It can be tough getting someone to sit down and watch your video so we recommend that you tell all of the friends you have that would be interested in watching it and ask them to tell their friends too. You could also ask your parents to share your little masterpiece online by asking them to post it to their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Underneath each video are a whole load of sharing options to explore!

My child has uploaded a video without my knowledge, how do I remove the video?

Although we require parents permission for a child to sign up to WowTown.com we appreciate they like some freedom and so we won't inform you every time they upload a video. If a video appears on the site that you we rather we removed just click on the "Report this video" button where you can fill out the form stating the reasons as to why you want the content removed. The information submitted will be processed and action will be taken within 24 hours.

How do I leave a comment?

Leaving a comment on a video is simple, just click on the video you want to comment on and click the ‘comments’ tab just underneath the video. Don’t know what to say? Maybe you could tell other Wowzers what you like about the video and if you’d buy that toy or not. When leaving a comment do keep in mind that we do not tolerate bullying or bad language against other Wowzers and that all comments are checked first.

Do I need Facebook to leave a comment?

Although we support various social networking websites for sharing videos you don’t need a Facebook account to comment on videos you like. Instead you leave comments as a Wowzer and the WowTown.com team will check each individual comment to make sure it’s suitable to go on the website. This is a system we have built ourselves to keep WowTown.com a safe, secure and fun environment.

How do I find toys similar to mine?

If you’re looking for toys similar to the ones you already have then simply go to the category that relates to your toy. Searching familiar things is a fun way to discover new toys that may tickle your fancy. Whilst you’re at it you could even upload a video of the toy you already have so other Wowzers can see what you’re currently playing with and discover it for themselves!

I requested a password change but haven't received an email, where has this gone?

If you requested a password change but didn't give your email address when signing up your password change request will have been sent to your parents email address.
